I’m Michelle, the blogger behind Lab Muffin. I spend a lot of time trying out new beauty products and like to keep up with the latest skincare developments.

I like to take good care of my skin and use products that keep my skin looking healthy and fresh. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to waking up, so I want to keep my morning make-up routine minimal. I use many scientifically supported products like Neostrata Gel Plus, Paula’s Choice 1% Clinical Strength Retinol and Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid to even out my skin tone and keep my pimples and blackheads at bay. For exfoliation, I’ve strayed away from scrubs in favour of the gentler and more effective The Face Shop’s White Jewel Peeling Gel.

To moisturise without making my oily skin even more oily, I use Uriage AquaPrecis Refreshing Cream-Gel; and when my skin is feeling dull I mix in some Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+. This is my current favourite.

I use sunscreen with good UVA and UVB protection on my face every day to prevent wrinkles and to fade my acne marks faster. I’m really loving Biore’s Aqua Base Watery Essence at the moment, but I’m hoping to find one that’s as light with a higher UVA rating.

The only makeup I wear every day is eyeliner and lip colour. For eyeliner, I use Giorgio Armani’s Smooth Silk Eye Pencil, and for my favourite long-lasting, low maintenance lip product, I use Revlon’s Kissable Balm Stain.

For more formal occasions when I need some extra coverage, I use Skin79 Super+ BB Cream as my foundation – it’s lightweight and has an built-in primer.
